If we compare the trajectory of flu/respiratory diseases in 2019/2020 with 2017/2018 we find two similar curves.
Lockdown does not appear to have slowed the number of flu respiratory deaths. Why should we believe that it reduced the number of Covid deaths?
Note
-
The 2019/2020 flu/respiratory numbers may include some covid deaths.
-
By week 23 (5 June 2020) there are fewer Covid deaths than there were Flu/Respiratory deaths in the equivalent period in 2017/2018
Is there some reason why a lockdown would slow Covid deaths but not flu/respiratory deaths?
